STOFFERS RACING
LIVIN THE DREAM!!!
Hello my name is Kevin Bergquist and I am a Team member and promoter of Stoffers Racing, a professional race team of the North American Hillclimb Association. Stoffers Racing built of passion, integrity, and character was born in 1996 by Paul Stoffers who has brought revolutionary concepts to the sport of hillclimbing let alone incredible talent.
We are proud of the fact that hillclimbing was the first form of motorcycle competition. With this sense of heritage and a compelling drive for the future of Professional hillclimbing, this is a sport made up of great people who believe in a sense of family and the survival of our sport. Hoping to draw in the future of our sport the Next generation.
There are however many expenses connected with being a privateer Race Team. We rely greatly on sponsor support and ask you to become part of the Stoffers Racing family, LIVIN THE DREAM!!! The major expense for the Team is paying the travel costs due to the fact that Events are held in California, Montana, South Dakota and Idaho. We are hoping that this might be something you would consider helping us with.
In return for your sponsorship, depending on sponsor commitment, your logo can be advertised in a spectrum of ways. Some advertisement possibilities include race bike graphics, Team shirts and Team posters. As a sponsor of a Professional Race Team you gain the advantage of having your business logo spread across a variety of media such as Television, Radio, Magazine and the World Wide Web.
There also may be the opportunity for other promotions. Gearing for the future Stoffers Racing looks to open its horizons for the team and the sport in such ways as promotional calenders, events and autograph signings.
We hope this is something you might be willing to consider. Further details can be provided with a full break down of likely costs. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you so I can answer any questions you may have. I will be contacting you this week, unless I hear from you sooner, to see if you would like to take the next step towards the future of hillclimbing.
Thank you for for giving this your consideration
best regards.
Kevin Bergquist N.A.H.A #316

News from Carnegie
Greetings to all the people who want to support ongoing OHV recreation at Carnegie Cycle Park. Substantial progress has taken place in the last 9 months after our park was almost closed.
For the previous 10 years a group of Carnegie riders has met with park staff to try to make our ideas part of the park’s future. Some of our efforts were useful but others were unfortunately never implemented or accepted. We originally worked under the name
CORE.
CORE.
We are now pleased to announce that our work for these past months and years will culminate with our application this month (September) for Federal non-profit status as a 501(C) (3) corporation called – Carnegie Forever, Inc. We know that this is the only way to have our views credibly represented at future meetings.
Relative to this new status we will apply to California’s OHV Commission for a major round table discussion about Carnegie this year (hopefully December) in Tracy. We want to discuss many problems at the park and ways to keep environmental
organization from trying to close our park. Carnegie was a test case for attacking OHV areas and we are dedicated to keeping the gate closed to these persistent intruders.

One of our greatest allies over the last 15 years is Don Amador. As the Western States Representative for BRC (Blue Ribbon Coalition), he travels to “hot spots” all over the West fighting for our recreation rights. Don came to our rally the day we expected the
park to cease operations – now let’s rally to support his work. He keeps us informed of issues all over the state and appears as an expert witness on our behalf. Don NEEDS our financial help right now. Please take a few minutes and make a donation to his work. Access this web page. On the right side of the page is a donation box to direct your gift. Under “contribution instructions” enter “Western Rep. Expenses”. Your support will get some critical financial help to the office of the man we have all come to trust and respect.

Dirt bike season starts in October. The dreaded and totally unfair Red Sticker season also ends at the same time. With perfect symmetry we can celebrate this occasion with an annual reunion of sorts at Carnegie by attending the Horne Family’s California Hillclimb Series Round 3 on October 2nd and 3rd. Round 4 will be on November 6th and 7th.
This series has grown in popularity over the last 20 years and the Carnegie hills have produced many champions in the sport. Also added is a new twist – side-by-side racing called VERTICROSS©. Motocross riders are now entering hillclimbs! Previous events
brought 500 riders who compete in classes from 50cc to 1500cc. There will be a pit-bike race Saturday night under the lights.

Special note: Carnegie Forever, Inc will have an information booth at the event.
Join the fun and support the event and the Skip, Lynn and George Horne Family that has put Carnegie on the map. Visit Skip's Promotions for more info.
Finally
Keep the faith. Send us your suggestions and ideas, especially for the OHV Commission Meeting this year. We will keep you informed of the progress of our corporation.
Remember - financial support for Don Amador and Skip’s Hillclimb supports all our efforts as a recreation community.
Thanks for helping us,

The Big Nasty Hillclimb Returns (8/27/2010)
Largest motorcycle event in Idaho returns in September 2010
The 8th annual Chaos Energy, Big Nasty Hillclimb is coming up on September 17-19, 2010, and again be held on the 1,000 acre Pence Ranch, in an area known locally as the White Cliffs, 4 ½ miles north of New Plymouth, Idaho. It is Idaho’s largest motorcycle event, and will pull in over 12,000 spectators from across the Western United States. It is also the only professional motorcycle hillclimb in the entire Northwest, and is the fifth and final round of the 2010 NAHA (North American Hillclimber Association) Professional Hillclimb Series.
The Big Nasty Weekend is a unique, eclectic event, sort of a Burning Man meets NASCAR kind of thing, but first and foremost, it is one of the premier motorcycle hillclimbs in the world, and many have referred to it as “The toughest hillclimb on earth.” In 2009, almost 600 entries ran throughout the weekend, and the best riders and machines from across the U.S. will return again in 2010, from the 250-horsepower, nitro Harley’s, to the stretched-out, fuel-injected Yamaha’s, these are wild, noisy, exotic machines that you can’t see anywhere else in the Northwest.
The pro hill is over 600 feet long and starts right in the middle of the spectator area, before jumping the road and heading straight up over jumps, turns and cliff sections. Friday and Saturday’s amateur and pro qualifying hills are shorter, but are nearly as steep and sinister as their bigger brother. A total of 27 trophy classes will run on Friday and Saturday, for stock dirt bikes ranging from 50cc minis to 450 motocross units, to vintage bikes. There is also the all-new Rekluse Industry & Celebrity Challenge, which will pit those who work in the motorcycle industry, and celebrities (such as elected officials and media members) against each other on the hill to raise money for a good cause. Expect to see a few daring riders claw their way over the top, and many more stall out or flip over, as brave men with big ropes and hooks, called catchers, try to grab bikes and riders before they flip and tumble toward the bottom of the hill.
Over 600 camping passes were sold last year, and the gates open to campers at 9am on Friday morning. Amateur competition then begins at noon on Friday and runs continuously until about 11pm on Friday evening, finishing under lights. Pro qualifying starts at 9am on Saturday, with a combination of pro, semi-pro and amateur competition running all day until ending at about 11pm, when the first-ever, Big Nasty fireworks show will take center stage on Saturday night. The pro finals start at 9:30 on Sunday morning and will wrap up at about 4pm with the King of the Hill competition that was won last year by Damon Bradshaw.
Hillclimbing is just part of the adventure at the Big Nasty. Other entertainment includes all-new ATV Adventure rides and mud bog ATV and bikini competition, Vintage Yamaha swap meet, live music, pumpkin shooting, freestyle shows, helicopter rides, a new, motorcycle dual sport ride, a road bike ride from Oregon, a carnival ride, kids bouncy slide and a face-painting clown, air boat rides in the river, a Sunday morning service, and overnight camping in the surrounding hay fields. As always, all kinds of food and beverages will be available on site, from funnel cakes to breakfast burritos.
Ticket prices range from $10 per day (advance) to $15 per day at the gate, children ages 6-12 are $5 per day, and kids 5-under are free. Discount coupons will be available at all 25 Treasure Valley Stinker Stores, and all 24 Southern Idaho Les Schwab Tire Stores and NAPA Parts Stores will sell tickets, starting on August 12. For more information please contact Ron Dillon at (208) 573-4255, or visit the website at: www.bignastyhillclimb.com.
